FLIPPING THE CLASSROOM

FLIPPING THE CLASSROOM
Nowadays we are used to listen to the teacher in front of the class. Our parents were educated with this same method, but there is a problem with that: Not all the students are learning at the same time, and there are students that are more advanced than others, so the ones who had less knowledge can’t follow the classes as well as the teacher hope.
Some people can learn more listening at the teacher, others by taking notes, but if the teacher goes so fast, there are students who don’t follow the class and they didn’t learn what they should.
However, the video purpose is to flip the class, this consist on: The teacher makes a video with the content that he’ll teach in class and shares it online to the students, so they can go with some doubts to the next class. The students can watch the video as many times as they like so, the teacher have more time to spent working with students and giving them individual support.
The students can watch the video when they want with their mobile phones, and this method permit them to learn more individually.
This is a good method for the teachers and students. The teachers have more time to prepare activities to apply the knowledge that their students have learned at home while they were watching the videos.

IT'S UNETHICAL THAT SOME SPORT MEN EARN SO MUCH MONEY

IT’S UNETHICAL THAT SOME SPORT MEN EARN SO MUCH MONEY
Nowadays some port man earn good salaries only to run behind a ball or strike it while teachers as well as doctors are having economic cuts.
From my point of view it’s unfair that being a football player is one of the most well-paid jobs because they earn money for training itselves twice a week (or more).
In my opinion, being a teacher for instance is very important because they prepare young people, who will be the new motor of the world in the future.
The same way, doctors should earn more money too, because their job is dangerous but if they do it well they help lots of people to overcome illnesses or they can save people’s lives.
Another well-paid job should be forests ranger because they fight for our safety and they clean forests not to have pollution. Forests rangers are very important because the pollution is causing seriously damage at the environment.
So, shouldn’t doctors, teachers and forest rangers be paid accordingly?
I think that people should be more conscious of that because we need a better world to make it possible, we have to change, firstly, the economy of our country.
It’s true that some people go to the stadium to see matches despite of the ticket high price but I believe that they complain when a basic thing is very expensive or I’m sure that the same person thinks that it’s unfair that a sport man (like football players) gets more money that other people that are working to have a better world.
In conclusion, I think that there are some people who have great and dangerous jobs and who don’t earn the amount they should, but every day they’re working for a “better” world without violence, pain, pollution and illnesses. They are also trying to have a better future.
And as I said before, sport men shouldn’t earn that that people, so; our society should change your ways and start fighting for a fair world without injustices.

THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE SCHOOL LOCATED IN BANYOLES CELEBRATE ITS 10th BIRTHDAY

THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE SCHOOL LOCATED IN BANYOLES CELEBRATE ITS 10th BIRTHDAY
The official language school, situated at 155 Llibertat Street in Banyoles, celebrated its 10th birthday last 8th October with a meeting at the Auditorium l’Ataneu in Banyoles.
Among the participants was Miquel Noguer, the mayor of the town, who encouraged the teachers and talked about the importance of having this school in the town. He congratulated the school and when he finished talking, Annie Gil, the principal of the school said: “we ran the risk but now the school is filled up”. She gave some information about the school since its inauguration in September 2005, and gave a positive evaluation helping itself saying that the town is close to Girona and other towns, so a lot of people know the school.
After Annie Gil, Albert Bayot, the director of the Educational department in Girona, emphasized on new projects and said that he’s surprised about the school because there, all teachers are well prepared and they teach five levels of English and three of French although he thinks it would be better if the school introduce new languages in a near future.
The last participant was Sebastià Serrano, a communication expert and linguist, who works at Barcelona University (UB) and he spent one hour and a half talking about communication in the third millennium. He agreed with Annie who said that is difficult to start with a school in a small town.

Finally, they all agreed that it’s a privilege to have a public official language school and Annie closed the speech saying that the school had increased in the last three years and now it has four hundred students and six teachers. She hopes that this numbers will increase again in the following years.

INFORMAL EMAIL

Hi Jenna!

I read your email yesterday but I couldn't reply you until now.

I wasn't expecting your invitation; I've already planned my next holidays. As you know, we won the Catalan Basketball Cup and we'll start training the first day of my holidays (every evening, OMG! :O). As if that wasn't enough, on Mondays and Thursdays I've joined a trainer course, and it's so expensive that my mum won't let me skip a session.

Apart from basketball, I've just collaborating on a new association called ANJI (Assamblea Nacional de Joves Independentistes del Pla de l'Estany). It's so interesting and funny at the same time because it's only for young people and all the activities we organize are very cool.

Unfortunately, we are doing a meeting on Saturday morning and it's essential for me to attend it.

I'm so grateful you invited me but I won't be able to come; however, we can have a Skype call every night; I'm too busy during the day!

I hope you can understand me, I would love coming and hugging you, but I have no time.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

XOXO

Carla :*
